Biography
Linda Parreco is a nurse consultant in the Division of Cancer Prevention. She serves as the Division’s Liaison to the National Cancer Institute’s Central Institutional Review Board (CIRB), specifically providing oversight and coordination for the Cancer Prevention and Control CIRB. She has over 30 years’ experience as an oncology nurse, having served as a research nurse in the Wichita Community Clinical Oncology Program, a breast cancer nurse case manager and coordinator of the Nurse Case Management program at the Lombardi Cancer Center at Georgetown University, head of DCP’s Protocol Information Office, and a public health advisor in the NCI Office of Communication and Education.
She is a member of the Oncology Nursing Society, American Society of Clinical Oncology, Public Responsibility in Medicine and Research, and the Georgetown University Alumni Association. Her awards and recognition include the Presidential Award, Leukemia Society of America, Kansas Chapter and Leukemia Society Professional of the Year; Excellence in Quality Outcomes, Excellence in Service Delivery, and Special Recognition awards from Georgetown University. She has also received individual and group NIH Merit Awards for work in program management, project development, and clinical trials stewardship. She received her Master’s Degree in Oncology Nursing from Georgetown University.
