Biography

John Pepper, Ph.D., is a Biologist in the Biometry Research Group.

Dr. Pepper consults on and conducts research in computational biology, evolutionary and ecological theory, and their applications to cancer prevention. His work includes simulation studies of somatic cell evolutionary dynamics to help understand how and why cancer begins and progresses within body tissues and inform the design of interventions.

Dr. Pepper received his Ph.D. in biology from the University of Michigan. Originally trained as a computational and evolutionary biologist, Dr. Pepper’s work focused on understanding the evolution of pathogenic microbes and of cancer cells.
