Biography

Rachel Altshuler, Ph.D., is a Program Officer in the Breast and Gynecologic Cancer Research Group in the Division of Cancer Prevention (DCP) where she manages portfolios on preclinical cancer symptom science research, cancer pain, and peripheral neuropathy and is part of the DCP Symptom Science Working Group. Rachel joined NCI in 2021 as a Presidential Management Fellow (PMF), working with DCP to identify gaps in preclinical and translational symptom science research. Additionally, Rachel completed her PMF developmental rotation at the Food and Drug Administration Center for Devices and Radiological Health. Rachel received her Ph.D. in Pharmacology from the University of Michigan and completed her postdoctoral training at the University of Maryland Department of Psychology.
