Job Opening for DCP Deputy Director and Chief Technology Officer

The Division of Cancer Prevention (DCP) of the National Cancer Institute (NCI) has a job opening for an innovative leader to serve as its Deputy Director and Chief Technology Officer (dual role).

The Deputy Director and Chief Technology Officer (DD/CTO) will serve as a senior scientific authority within the DCP and NCI for establishing the research agenda and overseeing research to identify and expand technological solutions to fundamentally improve cancer prevention and symptom management.

These technologies include (but aren’t limited to) imaging and image analysis, ‘omics, novel molecular techniques for measuring biomarkers in biospecimens (e.g., liquid biopsies), translation of discoveries into prototype products, drug discovery and delivery, new assays, and other biomedical engineering, bioengineering, and technology developments that will enhance and lead to new discoveries in cancer prevention research.

The position will be based in Rockville, MD, a suburb of Washington, DC. NCI is accepting applications from October 19, 2021 through December 18, 2021.

This position will be filled under a Title 42 excepted service appointment. Salary is competitive and will be commensurate with the experience of the candidate.
