PLCO Sponsoring Organization

These NCI components work directly with the Coordinating Center which provides support for development and implementation of the study protocol; and with the Principal Investigators from each of the Screening Centers to ensure that the technical aspects of the trial are carried out under rigorous scientific standards.
The NCI Project Officers are also responsible for coordinating the analysis of data resulting from the PLCO trial; disseminating results from the trial the scientific literature; and overseeing certain Screening Center plans and procedures. In addition, the NCI Contracting Officers are responsible for all contractual matters between NCI, the Coordinating Center, each of the Screening Centers, and any other organizations that provide contractual services, such as analysis laboratories.
