Overview/Goals
Research and its translation into medical practice and dietary recommendations must be based on a solid foundation of knowledge about nutrigenetics and nutrigenomics. Research in these areas will lead to the expanded use of existing foods and their components and/or the production of new and novel foods for human growth, and development throughout the life cycle, health maintenance, prevention and disease treatment. Building partnerships among scientists within academia, government, international organizations, and industry, is fundamental to the success of unraveling the mysteries among dietary habits, growth and development and health.
